Colossians Prayer

God, our Father,

Thank you for ______. Thank you for his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and the love that he has for all the saints. Lord, continue to store up in ______ hope that produces in him faith and love. Thank you for the truth of the gospel, which ______ has received. Please cause that truth to grow in ______, bearing much fruit in his soul. God, please fill ______ with the knowledge of your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. I pray this that ______ may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please You in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of You, being strengthened with all power according to Your glorious might so that ______ may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully will give thanks to You, Father because You have qualified him to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. Give ______ an understanding that You have rescued him from the dominion of darkness and have brought him into the kingdom of the Son, that You so greatly love, in whom ______ has redemption and forgiveness of sins. Since ______ is Your chosen, holy and dearly loved, help him to be clothed with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Help him to bear with others and forgive whatever grievances he has against anyone. Help him to forgive as You have forgiven him. And over all these virtues, Lord, please pour out onto ______ love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Please let the peace of Christ rule in ______’s heart, since as a member of the Body, You have called him to peace. Cause ______ to be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell richly in ______’s heart and give him opportunities to teach and admonish others with all wisdom. Please stir up in him psalms, hymns and spiritual songs…and help him to sing those to others with gratitude in his heart to God. And whatever ______ does, Lord, whether in word or deed, cause him to do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, with eternal thanks to God the Father. In Your name, amen.
