I’m Expecting
The Joy of a Soul Pregnant with Hope

In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.
-Psalm 5:2

I learned at an early age to reign in my hopes and expectations. The enemy convinced me that if you didn’t hope or expect then you wouldn’t be disappointed. Just take things as they come. I really believed that dreaming was for the “stout of heart” and something that I wasn’t able to handle. Today, I believe differently. Today, He touched my calloused heart with His heart for me. He hears me…that alone rocks my world, but that isn’t all…He wants me to lay down my requests and wait in expectation. He delights in giving good gifts to His children. He is a Father who dotes on His offspring. He longs to see a twinkle in the eyes of the child that He formed with His hands. He waits to hear the song on our voices. He is enriched when our laughter fills the depths of His heart.

I just caught a glimpse of His heart toward us today. I couldn’t wait to share with all of you just how much He loves us and wants us to be expectant dreamers. A people pregnant with the seed of hope.
