Two thoughts as I read this, one is what John Eldredge said in his audio "Spirit of the Age" is that this busyness is in large part the enemy's way of keeping us from experiencing or even taking the time to seek intimacy with God. Secondly it made me think of the narcissism of our day and how the deep self-absorbed introspection also keeps us from experiencing the presence of God.
