You are the Silence

02 Jan

You are the Silence
when there is only noise,
the Stillness after the quake.
You are the Fire in the night,
hotter than a hundred stars.
You are my Song,
my feet where I cannot stand,
the Rock I cannot break.
In the avalanche of night,
dark and suffocating cold,
You are still my Breath and Blood and Bread

About Brian

I am a disciple of Christ.  I’m learning to walk with God, and am finding it to be the most extravagant adventure I’ve ever known.  Painful, at times even agonizing, but glorious, too.  The ecstasy, in fact, outweighs the agony.  I’m in my 30's and am married to an absolutely amazing and beautiful woman.  I’ve worked in various ministry capacities and have traveled fairly extensively. I now hold a Master's in Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. As a therapist, I see individuals, couples, and families, journeying with them to find healing, freedom, and restoration. I love going after the hearts of others, and I'll always be in training (Luke 6:40) to learn what it is to first come alive fully myself, both in and out of the classroom and, and then to offer that to others as I walk alongside Christ.  My wife and I both desire to walk continually closer to the heart of God through this life and to express God’s heart and His kingdom through our lives in both worship and battle for His bride.  I am learning to grow into and accept my primary identity as that of, like John the Disciple, “the one that Jesus loves,” as well as other names I have heard the Father speak over me in song and whisper to me in testing and initiation.  I am a man fathered and befriended and learning to love and be loved in community with others. My heart awakens to the reality that there is so much more with God.  And that is, I suppose, what "The Invitation of a Lifetime" is all about -- the more.  The daily initiation into the abundant life.
